Creating the “perfect component” with products from REHAU

“The perfect component” – with this motto, REHAU will be exhibiting its new products at the SICAM, which will take place in Pordenone, Northern Italy, from the 15^th to 18^th October. REHAU will once again be unveiling numerous innovations at the seasonal highlight of the furnishing industry: from sustainable edgebands to new surface materials. REHAU always pursues a clear objective, namely, to ensure that all products enable the industry to implement its projects in the best possible way, however unusual they may be, therefore “Enabling exceptional design”.

Design coordination guide for monolithic furniture manufacture

“Buying furniture is all about individual tastes. Some people want to be ahead of times and are always looking for the latest trends, while others want furniture that they will still like in 20 years’ time,” says Jochen Luft, Sales Director Industry at REHAU. “That’s why we always design our product lines to reflect the current zeitgeist on the one hand and to ensure timeless appeal on the other. Whatever customers ultimately opt for, they can rest assured that they will receive the highest quality, the best processing convenience and   receive products with a matching design.” At SICAM, REHAU will be demonstrating how exceptional design can be implemented with REHAU materials – surfaces, edgebands and storage space variants combine to create furniture as if made from one piece. To allow visitors to see for themselves, REHAU has planned an interactive kitchen at its stand that playfully demonstrates the design coordination guide across different material and product solutions. They will also get to see RAUVOLET, the comprehensive storage space solution in the crystal-line complete variant, which shows off its effect in matching designs with RAUVISIO crystal.

The edgeband: a story of innovation

Edgeband solutions remain the foundation for the Interior Solutions division. RAUKANTEX edgebands have been the innovation benchmark for edgebands since their market launch over 50 years ago – and they still have some surprises in store. For REHAU, the focus is on sustainability. Three years ago, REHAU launched two sustainable product lines with RAUKANTEX eco and evo. Both edgeband lines were recently awarded the German Innovation Award 2024 by the expert jury of the German Design Council. The REHAU edgeband range RAUKANTEX PP and the sustainable PP edgebands RAUKANTEX eco and evo now also meet the stringent requirements of the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. “Certifications and external assessments are important to us,” says Jochen Luft. “Our sustainability work should be transparent and clearly understandable. Independent certifications are the best way to achieve this.” The edgeband plants in Rehau and Visbek are now ISCC PLUS certified, while the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) ensures even greater transparency at product level. REHAU is also promoting the circular economy for edgebands with the ReTurn concept. But, in addition to sustainability, there are innovations in other areas, as well. With RAUKANTEX folding premium, the edgeband for fronts without handles, RAUKANTEX pigmento for a seamless look right down to the milling radius, RAUKANTEX paintable premium, the paintable edgeband as the name suggests, and RAUKANTEX pro duo, the multi-layer edgeband, further new products can also be seen at the stand – demonstrating that the innovation journey of edgebands is far from over.

Surfaces with new colours and trendy decorative designs

With a view to the latest trends in interior design, REHAU will be showcasing several innovations for the RAUVISIO collections at its stand. Visitors at SICAM can look forward to new, fresh solid colours in the RAUVISIO crystal Pure range. Similarly, three new colours are being added to the award-winning RAUVISIO crystal Deep Collection to reflect the current zeitgeist, namely the warm, earthy colour shades of Luna, Torba and Terriccio that fit harmoniously into a wide range of room concepts – whether as eye catcher or discreetly blending into the background. With regard to the colour scheme of Luna, designers can even combine different REHAU materials in the same colour and choose between smart glass, the noble matt surface or the concrete surface to create harmonious room concepts.

Speaking of the concrete finish: with the RAUVISIO cube surface, REHAU has combined this popular, authentic look with clear processing benefits and has already received positive feedback from visitors in 2023. Consequently, visitors can also look forward to some interesting innovations like the RAUVISIO cube at SICAM.

Innovative storage space concepts in terms of function and design

Last year, REHAU presented FLIPDOOR, a smart and space-saving storage solution with the new slat technology. The product range was very well received by trade visitors. REHAU will therefore include the storage solutions in its standard product range from 2025. This will offer furniture manufacturers and interior designers a new opportunity to implement space-saving and stylish storage solutions that fit seamlessly into any room, naturally also in a design combination with RAUVISIO crystal as a front or splashback. The space-saving slat folding system creates an organised overview and makes optimum use of the storage space i.e. either as a wall-mounted or top-mounted cabinet variant. Thanks to its easy installation, FLIPDOOR can be fitted effortlessly into standard carcasses.
