Emma – The Sleep Company is a founder-managed company and one of the fastest growing providers of mattress and sleeping systems based in Frankfurt/Germany. The internationally active sleep company was founded as Bettzeit GmbH in 2013 by Dr. Dennis Schmoltzi and Manuel Mueller and achieved a turnover of 150 million Euros in 2019 (growth rate: 86 per cent).

Emma - the sleep company

The portfolio includes the international Direct-to-Consumer brand Emma®, which quickly became one of the top 3 bed-in-a-box providers in Europe. With their in-depth expertise in research and development, the Emma team constantly translates material and technological advances into its high-quality product range. In addition, the team of about 400 people continuously implements innovative concepts in the areas of process optimization as well as marketing and sales. The success drivers of the very agile day-to-day life of the company are a strong digital mindset, the courage to pragmatic solutions and lived diversity. As of 1 July 2020, Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH acquired 50.1 percent of Emma.

Emma

Emma® is one of the most international sleep brands. The direct-to-consumer company was founded at the end of 2015 by Manuel Mueller and Dr. Dennis Schmoltzi. Just under five years after the company was founded, Emma® sleep products are available online in 23 countries as well as in over-the-counter retail outlets from numerous European cooperation partners. More than one million Emma® mattresses have now been sold. In the 2019 financial year, the parent company Emma – The Sleep Company (Emma Sleep GmbH) generated sales of EUR 150 million and expects sales of over EUR 240 million in 2020.

Emma® mattresses have already received awards from independent consumer organizations in 12 countries. With their high, award-winning quality and innovative design, all products ensure a high level of sleeping comfort. In addition, they ensure that the shopping experience is as comfortable as possible: customers can try out Emma® mattresses at home and return them free of charge within 100 days if they are not satisfied.

Christoph v. Wrisberg – Managing Director Retail

Christoph v. Wrisberg (born 1966) has been Managing Director Retail at Emma - The Sleep Company since November 2018 and heads the cross-brand and cross-channel sales team. Christoph v. Wrisberg studied economics at the University of Siegen. Before joining Emma, he was responsible for the Schlaraffia brand at Recticel as Managing Director Marketing/Sales. In total, v. Wrisberg has been working in leading marketing and sales functions for more than 20 years. At Emma, he focuses primarily on cooperation with stationary partners and the full use of digital potential.
