REHAU at SICAM in Pordenone

Interior inspiration and innovative new products

It’s nearly time for SICAM in Pordenone. From 17 to 20 October, the northern Italian city will once again become the focal point of the furniture industry. REHAU will welcome trade visitors to the industry’s seasonal highlight with product innovations, comprehensive decor collections, a host of technical advances and clever services for the perfect component. The interior specialist for ambitious furniture-making has a simple message and promise: “Enabling Exceptional Design”.

Design match for monolithic furniture-making

Exceptional design needs ideas, inspiration, and materials to turn sketches into reality. Trade visitors can look forward to all this on the REHAU stand: “We offer everything our customers need for their furniture components. We devote particular attention to the function, color and diversity of our surfaces, edgebands and storage solutions,” says Jochen Luft, Director Sales & Marketing EMEA Industry in the Interior Solutions Division at
REHAU. “Monolithic furniture-making is only successful when all the components appear to form a harmonious ensemble. So, our production adopts a design match approach across our various product ranges. And we not only boast outstanding design but also a coordinated procurement process. Our customers really appreciate that.”

The evolution of the edgeband continues

RAUKANTEX has been the innovation benchmark for edgebands since it was launched over 50 years ago. And it continues to evolve as the world’s leading edgeband specialist, REHAU is constantly rewriting the history of RAUKANTEX, thanks to its innovative collections, materials expertise, technical knowledge, individual functional layers, sustainability, intelligent additional features, and clever services. At SICAM, REHAU will be showcasing new products such as RAUKANTEX pigmento, lumina and folding as well as digital printing options for extended pattern repeats. An interactive presentation will provide a novel edgeband experience.

New applications for RAUVISIO surfaces

The trade fair appearance is inspired by the “Passion for color” surface collection. The six color trends for 2023, which entice us into the world of spices, set visual accents throughout the entire trade fair stand. And new features will also be on show: as fire-protection-certified wall panels, RAUVISIO innara expands the portfolio of surface materials. The latest member of the RAUVISIO family is therefore recommended for use in public buildings or the healthcare sector, for example. Interior doors featuring RAUVISIO noir laminate and a specially coordinated edgeband solution for laser processing turn a door leaf into the perfect door element. And as a compact panel, the RAUVISIO noir collection opens up other applications, for tables and counters, for example.

Innovative storage concepts in terms of function and design

New storage solutions will also be on display. REHAU has two solutions up its sleeve: the FLIPDOOR 2 storage solution with its new slat mechanism as well as the fabric or felt look on its tambour door surfaces. Both product variants will make their public debut at SICAM.

Sustainable products and processes

In addition to new products, the trade fair will also focus on sustainability. REHAU has a clearly defined roadmap for the recycling-oriented products in its Interior Solutions Division. The aim is to increase the proportion of recycled materials used while continuing to find alternative raw materials and increase the use of renewable energy sources globally. Since 2020, production in all its European edgeband plants has been 100 per cent powered by renewable energy sources, and solar parks are currently being built at many of its European factory sites, allowing them to be operated with an autonomous power supply. There are also sustainable product lines such as RAUKANTEX eco, for which 50 per cent post-industrial recycled matter is used in the base material for the edgeband, while RAUKANTEX evo is produced using non-fossil primary raw materials instead of crude oil (in contrast to conventional polypropylene edgebands). This edgeband is the only product on the market to have ISCC PLUS certification. In terms of surface materials, last year saw the launch of RAUVISIO eco.fino, a range in which the entire board consists of 98 per cent recycled materials. And in 2023, another step towards achieving closed-loop manufacturing has been achieved with the ReTurn recycling concept for ABS and PP edgebands.
