Steens: Soma

The designer series "Soma" by Morten Georgsen was born out of our vision to create an affordable designerfurniture collection without sacrificing design, comfort or quality.

412-bedroom-room-sets

The wood used for SOMA comes from forests in northern Sweden and Finland, where we find an idyllic climate for the slow growth of Pinus Sylvestris, which is harvested and processed after about 80 years.

The woods and MDF boards used by Steens are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the world's most trusted body for sustainable forestry.

We have 60 years of experience in the production of wooden furniture with an eye for quality, design, current trends and respect for the environment. We underline this in particular with our path to a climate-neutral footprint with the achievement of sustainable development goals with measures for climate protection and life on land, the so-called SDGs 13 and 15.

With "Soma" we are going this way.

The high-quality solid wood has stopped absorbing Co2 after 80 years and can now be found in the fluted solid wood front of the furniture programme. The black MDF body appears in perfect harmony with the Nordic solid wood in a dark stained, espresso-coloured look.

A black metal frame completes the design expression. All visible parts are lacquered in the same colour as the metal frame, emphasising the design of the natural and sustainable wood.

High-quality fittings, as well as self-closing drawer runners and soft-closing door fittings round off this high-quality furniture series.

Quality furniture from Denmark.
