The Interprint Design Week in São Paulo
Inspiração do Brasil
An inspiring place, pioneering speakers and much joie de vivre: The Interprint Design Week in São Paulo in March 2019 was again the hub of interior design, trends and innovations and the meeting place for international designers, influencers and trendsetters who formed a global team with Interprint's partners, customers and suppliers for a few days.
The Design Week on 13 and 14 March was about more than just decorative paper. It was also about innovations, technologies, art and craftsmanship – and about how great ideas can combine all that. The guests came from Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Ecuador and Colombia and met at the "Casa da Fazenda Morumbi" situated close to the Expo Revestir Pavilions.
Design Week as a source of inspirations
Co-located with Expo Revestir, the Design Week was a welcome source of inspirations for visitors and exhibitors from the derived timber product and furniture industries.
Situated in the centre of São Paulo but yet an oasis of peace, the location was ideal for examining global trends and initiating talks away from the hustle and bustle of the trade fair: Within the scope of practical workshops and inspiring lectures with artists and influencers, like the Scandinavian design expert Stefan Nilsson, influencers of the Brazilian culture, like Katia Lopes and Lucas Kenji, and the award-winning designers, Suzanne Reboh and Maurizio Burrato from the international Interprint Design Team. After all, the role of the social media in the development of new designs was also one of the key topics of the Design Week.
"Ibla" was very well received
The showcased Interprint decors, Frejo, Grid, Lorenza Walnut, Nairo and Fedara delighted the visitors. However, the undisputed star of the event was Ibla – a tufa with a cosmic look. Volcanic gas inclusions give the surface its porous texture that the guests wanted to experience both visually and haptically. Another trend: Indigenous woods, like Cumaru, Sucupira and hybrids that unite various positive characteristics.
Pure joie de vivre
Today, trends primarily fulfil the demand for the joie de vivre that they arouse. Whether it be minimalist design or urban style. Retro elements and regional styles also form a creative combination that gives new inspirations. Lourdes Manzanares, Sales and Marketing Director at Interprint Brazil summarised: "At the Design Week event, we showed our guests the highlights of the most important European trade fairs and designs that we first showcased in November at our first HUB Interior Festival in Germany. I am completely delighted that our first HUB Festival has already borne fruit as can already be seen today on the stands of the individual exhibitors at Expo Revestir."
